Tryouts are tentatively scheduled for Aug 3th & 4th (Mon/Tue) from 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Tryouts are for all players not currently on the team. All necessary cuts will be made after the tryout are complete. New players will have their schedule changed after successfully making the team. Skill is not necessarily the most important factor in determining the results of the tryouts. The players that make the team will be decided by several factors including skill, experience, potential, attitude, and work ethic. The total team size (varsity and jv) is usually between 28-32 players. Varsity and jv squads will not be determined until after tryouts. Note: Returning players will be evaluated when practice begins and are not guaranteed their spots on the team.
Tennis Season starts on Monday, August 10th, and runs through the end of the 1st quarter (end of October).
All players, except seniors and winter sports athletes, should also be signed up for 2nd quarter off-season tennis. Matches begin at the end of August.
- Practices are Monday-Friday from 2:00pm – 5:00pm before school starts and 2:25 – 5:00pm after the start of school.
- Players are expected to be at practice every day (Mon-Fri each week, except Labor Day)
- Match play will tentatively begin the week of August 24th.
- Matches start at 3:15 pm and usually end at approximately 5:30-6:00pm.
- Matches are played mainly on Tuesday and Thursday. Pre-season matches can vary.
