Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)

  • Approved for UC/CSU

The following one-year ROP course meets the UC/CSU Preparatory Elective “G” requirement.

Learn to provide immediate care to an ill or injured person and to assist emergency medical service EMS providers.  Completion of this class will provide a strong background useful in lifeguard positions, fire service, sports medicine, ski patrol, medical facilities and in preparation for the EMT course.

Prerequisite: Must be a high school junior or senior.


Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

  • Approved for UC/CSU

The following one-year ROP course meets the UC/CSU Preparatory Elective “G” requirement.

Prepare for a career as an ambulance attendant or emergency room technician.  EMT certification increases opportunity to obtain positions as lifeguards, fire fighters, search and rescue team members or ski patrol. Twenty-four hours of ambulance ride-a-long or ER observation will be arranged.  Upon completion, students will be eligible to take the National Registry EMT-Basic certification exam.

Prerequisite: Must be a high school senior.
