Work based learning is a way for students to gain work experience that is able for them to apply their academic knowledge and skills in practical situations that prepares them for future careers ahead of them. It can show students the purpose of what they learn in school and the point of view of a real engineer in an active work environment. From these experiences, students can gain insight and awareness of their opportunities that are available to them and what their interests in the technology and engineering career paths. Students are also able to receive credits for going through work based learning programs. This is not a course but more of an undercurrent for a whole bunch of courses and activities.
